Ding Dong, The Princess of Arizona is Gone!
Yada Yada Yada, my father, John McCain, Yada Yada...
Dear Hotties, Thotties, and Toddies,
What a week, what a week, what a week, what a mighty good week! Once again we’ve got a special episode for you, in which we revisit our conversation with one of our most iconique guests, POSE creator and friend of the show Steven Canals! After being trapped in the studio alone with Joe, it feels really good to remember what it was like being in the studio next to a man who smells like brown sugar, Tom Ford, and success. Dive in, here, and get a new edition of SRSL, and catch a whiff of Joe’s BHE (Big Het Energy)!
In my cute lil Olympic Corner, we have a few fun updates: Simone came back and competed on beam, downgrading her dismount to a simple (for her!) piked double back! It was enough for a bronze medal, one she says holds more meaning than all her other medals because it represents so much of what she went through. Then there’s Tom Daley and his knitting, which for some reason brought me the same type of joy that the Bernie memes from the inauguration brought me. Here’s hoping that he knits me a thong!
And for perhaps the greatest gift of all, she’s finally gone! That’s right, folks! Meghan McCain has left The View! Pour one out for my favorite daytime villainess, y’all: some of the best moments in the history of television have happened on that show, and then have been subsequently parodied on SNL, and are directly linked to our dear, one miss messy Meghan. Surely, Joy is ju,ping for, well…. joy!
In updates from last week, Da-who-the-fuck-listens-to-this-fool-anyways- has since issues a more substantive apology, claiming that cancel culture moves with a quickness on social media, and that many folks reached out to educate him. Congratulations to those people (in my Keke Palmer ‘Sorry to this man’ voice) because it could not have been me.
Alright loves, until next week: I love you, stay safe in these streets, mask-up, and let’s keep it cute!
XOXO, Denne Michele
*extra* delectable content
Funnily enough, we are on the road this week, and so we’re sending our love to you, in the form of the hit single “Sending My Love”, by Denne’s sister, Jean, that also happened to appear in the POSE series finale. Can you see the family resemblance? If you fall in love, you can find the very cute and very recent Chloe x Halle cover above!
2. Speaking of, Zhane may be old news, but Jean’s latest album, Generations, with her husband Marcus, is recently released and already garnering rave reviews.
3. Let’s say hello to the newest member of the Spears Family, Britney’s new iPad! Word has it our girl is super excited to have an iPad, and when you really think about it, is there anything more relatable than that? Modern Family did a whole-ass episode about it, and we all know the iPad Pro and plants are the only things Tommy will commit to! Also: FREE BRITNEY, BINCH!
4. Kelly Rowland is having a *moment* right now, and if you’ve missed her recent EP,you might want to get on that. Denne is LIVINGGGGGGG for her recent single, a remake of the gay anthem “Finally”.
5. Kelly Rowland’s moment is such that she gets two bullets, because her song Crazy is another Thot obsession right now! Let it be your gateway into the entire EP! Get cray cray, y’all, bc frankly, 2021 is half over and we’re thinking we need to get out this binch as quickly and painlessly as we can!
6. Joe and Denne opened up this episode talking about the joy of seeing an LGBTQ+ identified/affirming medical provider! If you want to learn more about LGBTQ specific healthcare, and how you too might be able to better tailor your providers to your specific needs, here are some jumping off points.

While famously grossed out by all things tapioca in the past, Denne has become a huge fan of Boba tea! Making it at home is a sort of morning ritual that eases her into the day and gives her few minutes to practice doing something nice for herself. She loves this kit, and thought maybe some of you would like it, too?
